A former high school math teacher has been fired after admitting to sexually assaulting a student and making a video of the assault.
The state education department said Wednesday it would revoke a certificate from the teacher, whose name was not released because he is not a licensed teacher.
“This teacher’s actions and conduct will not be tolerated,” the department said in a statement.
The school district in southwest Indiana has said it will not reinstate the teacher.
The district also released a statement saying it was cooperating with state authorities.
The department also released photos of the victim, a 15-year-old boy, as well as a text message exchange between the teacher and the boy that shows the teacher asking for a ride home.
Investigators said the teacher also sent the text message to another student.
The district issued a statement Thursday that said it has suspended the teacher pending an investigation.
In the video, the teacher can be seen standing on the boy’s shoulders while they hold hands.
The boy said he and his friends were dancing around the boy.
The teacher then gets on the front porch of a home and kisses him on the neck.
He then begins to fondle the boy, who can be heard asking the teacher for a kiss.
The teacher then turns around and takes off his pants, which he later removes, according to the video.
The boy says he is scared of the teacher’s touching him, but the teacher appears to have a hard time telling the boy he’s naked, and he also tells the teacher that he doesn’t want to hear about his sexual history.
The victim said he did not believe the teacher was being serious, and the teacher did not stop kissing him until the boy had removed his pants.
He was able to grab the teacher by the waistband of his pants and pull him down to his knees, according the video and the statement from the district.
The statement said the boy was not at the school during the incident, and a search of his cell phone revealed he had not been arrested.
